Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School Thespian Troupe 6766 brought home seven Superiors at the District 14 Thespian Festival held in Wesley Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in their first year of competition. The school brought 14 groups to compete against 500 area high school students. Seven of those groups were awarded top honors for their acting or musical performances and will be moving on to State Competition in March 2019 in Tampa.
Bishop McLaughlin Performing Art Department faculty, Mrs. Andrea Garner, founded the troupe this school year. It was the school’s first time competing in the annual District Festival.
Garner said, “I am so proud of each and every one of our Troupe members. While only some members who performed this year are advancing to the State Festival in March, the rest all scored Excellent, missing Superiors by only a point or two, yet still earning Honors at the closing ceremonies. I am so happy and proud of each and every one of them, they worked hard for this.”
