On September 17, 2016, Women-N-Charge—whose mission, in part, is to support and assist professional women in managing their businesses more effectively—held their annual fundraising tea event to raise funds for their grant program.
The tea, held at The Groves Golf and Country Club in Land O’ Lakes, was a magnificent success! The actresses of “The Case of the Great Jewel Robberies” did a wonderful job, and we think it’s safe to say that everyone had a great time! The delicious tea fare was provided by Ghada Jadallah of A Dash of Salt ‘n Pepper, the stage set and art work was provided by Roxanne Harmon of Murals and More, the set construction and set up was provided by Rick Pike of Waterline Construction, the sound system was provided by John Jay the DJ, the raffle and prize organization was headed up by Rosie Heim of Avon, the volunteer helpers were the GFWC Little Women of Lutz, and the hair extensions for Ruby Ring and Goldie Locks were provided by Jill Canfield of J Ellen Studios!
Anne Childers, aka Sherla Combs, was the 2016 Tea Committee Chair & Cast Director. The cast, consisting of Elayne Bassinger (Tea Co-Chair), Mary Adele Cluck, Jill Canfield, Barbara Brekke, April Saland, Penny Pike, and Yvette Behmer, supplied a very entertaining mystery play and they pulled the audience in to solve the case! In addition to the play, all enjoyed a Hat Contest and the Best Dressed Tea Table Contest. The judges were Paula O’Neil (Pasco County Clerk of the Court), Sandy Graves (Lutz Honorary Mayor), and Terri Dusek (Central Pasco Chamber President). Prizes were awarded for The Best Themed, The Loveliest, The Most Creative, and The Most Elegant.
We raised enough to fund our Grant Program for Women in Business. The grants will be awarded in the spring of 2017. Learn more at women-n-charge.com/Grants.html. Thank you to all of our sponsors, raffle donors, volunteers, supporters, and guests for helping us make this a great event!
