The Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse presented Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care with a donation check for $21,000 at the Pasco Sheriff’s Administrative Office in Dade City. The money was raised at the eighth annual Ride for Hospice & Paulie Palooza held on March 19 in Zephyrhills.
Linda Ward, Gulfside’s president and CEO, received the check from Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco with members from the Posse and Gulfside Hospice looking on. “On behalf of our organization, I would like to personally thank the Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and Paul Correia for holding this event to benefit Gulfside,” said Ward. “The work that all of you put into this event has gone
so far and touched so many lives in Pasco County. You have helped Gulfside provide quality care for anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay.”
Judy Tyler, Kym Corkum, and Margaret Bushell originally organized the Ride for Hospice in 2009. Tyler and Corkum came up with the idea for the Ride for Hospice after participating in Gulfside’s Hike for Hospice and enlisted Bushell’s assistance soon afterwards. Since the Ride for Hospice, the Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse has donated more than $146,000 to Gulfside Hospice in support of patient care and community services.
