For believers, the Bible refers to God as our spiritual Father. We have of course our father that we were born from physically on this Earth but the Bible calls God, our spiritual Father. It even says that He knew us before He put our spirit in our mother’s womb, which is pretty amazing.
I heard a pastor say, “We are an eternal spirit that lives in a temporal body and that has a soul which is our mind, will, and emotions.”
One of the things that I found so impactful in this life is really paying attention to the fact that we are a spirit, mind, and body. I find that when you are more aware of this, you actually do make better choices with your food because you want to honor the body God gave you and respect the gift that He gave you to take care of.
So on Father’s Day, I like to also think about my spiritual Father as well and how He is the one that chose the parents for us to have and the timing that we would be born. It was picked out and ordained by God for you to be here today at the time that you are for a very specific purpose with a plan that God had in mind when He created you.
The adventure is discovering what that is and why your spiritual Father put you here at the time that He did. I find that very interesting and sometimes it’s not what we would have thought but He does say that He gives us the desires of our heart.
I believe that He put certain interests and desires inside of us because it’s connected to why He put us here. That’s an interesting question to ask your spiritual Father and Creator. “Why did You put me here? What is it that You want me doing with the talents and desires that You’ve given me?”
I know with the amount of transition that’s happened in my own life. I’ve had to ask Him, “Why have You given me such a passion for health and wellness and what do You want me to do with that now?”
I’ve discovered that the one thing I love more than anything is showing people how powerful the Bible is and how much it can impact your life, in every area, it is quite amazing! Happy Father’s Day to all of you fathers out there. You are the one that God chose to play a huge part in our life to help grow us up and be the people we are today. Thank you!
