Registration is open for the annual Battle of the Bass fishing tournament, to be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Guy Harvey Camp Mack Resort in Lake Wales Proceeds from the event, hosted by MLF Tour professional Darrell Davis, benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay’s youth mentoring programs. Since partnering together in 2017, Darrell Davis Fishing has helped raised close to $65,000 for charity to help empower kids in Polk County to reach their full potential.
The entry fee for the catch-and-release tournament is $200 per 2-person boat and guaranteed First Place prize is $5000. With 100 boats, First Place will earn $10,000 and cash prizes paid through 5th place. There is also an optional Largest Bass competition (cost: $20 per boat) which pays 100% for the largest bass caught. Tournament waters include all lakes and rivers connected on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes.
A fishing clinic for the kids and their mentors will be held on the dock during the tournament and is hosted by Darrell Davis and facilitated with support from Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. This is always a highlight for the day as the Big/ Little “Matches” experience the fun of bass fishing and beautiful Polk County.
The event also includes a special drawing for a Power-Pole Pro 2 8’ (a $1,699 value) and other prizes. Winners must be 18 or older to enter and need not be present.
