All of these Old Testement “Types and Shadows” are where the Spirit of God hid the New Testement and is explained in the Apostles’ writings.
With this being established emphatically by the Book of Hebrews, we go on into the most holy and important of illustrations that God Himself established, The Ark of His Covenant.
The second-most important aspect of the Ark is that it is not just a part of the Old Testament because it was built by Moses. In fact, it is truly appointed as a New Testament object and teaching. The reason being was that the first sets of tablets, “the Ten Commandments” were never placed in the Ark of the Covenant. That set began with this statement:
(Ex 20:2) “I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
The second sets of Tablets began with this statement:
(Deut. 6:4-6) “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart.”
The two different opening statements meant that it was two different covenants. The first one was broken, and the second set was placed in the Ark and revealed after 40 years. This was the New Covenant which Jeremiah and Ezekiel spoke of and Jesus came to ratify by becoming the new priest after the order of Melchisedec. Once the second set of tablets, “The New Covenant,” was placed in the Ark, it became a part of the New Testament. At that moment the Ark had transcend the Old Covenant identity.
This replica of the Ark of the Covenant is presented in the exact size and dimensions and built with real acacia wood and gold mirrors along with replicas of Aaron’s almond rod, the golden pot of manna, and the box of sweet spices as well as all of the high priest’s garments.
