Did you know, the body requires an oxygen saturation level of 94% to 99% in the blood for proper function? It still functions with lower levels of course, but that can take a toll on your body. (By the way, many doctor’s offices test oxygen saturation levels during office visits, so if you are curious about your levels, just ask at your next appointment.)
As we discussed in the last email, adequate oxygen is critical for all our cells including our brain function and is transported throughout the body via our blood cells. Without enough oxygen, people may have decreased cognition, judgment, and coordination, or in more extreme cases, can even become unresponsive.
Like most of our body, our blood cells are made up mostly of water. When we don’t drink enough water, the blood can become thicker, increasing blood pressure, which decreases the blood’s ability to get enough oxygen to the brain and other cells. Drinking enough water helps your blood flow freely circulating the oxygen to your brain and every cell in your body. Think about it: The water molecule is made up of hydrogen and oxygen!
So how can you get an extra glass of water in today? Maybe try adding natural flavor such as:
• Fruit (raspberries, blueberries, lemon, orange, etc.)
• Fresh herbs (mint, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc.)
• Veggies (cucumber, tomato, ginger, celery, etc.)
• Or a combo that can be simple or a bit more creative such as orange-fennel, pineapple-mint-ginger, blackberry-sage, etc.
I’d love to hear about your plan to get in some extra water. Post a photo on my Facebook page Reflexology For The Health Of It if you add some fruit, veggies, or herbs to inspire the rest of us!
Remember, reflexology can help to deliver more oxygen to the various body parts, along with proper consumption of water. If you’d like to learn more, contact me at: (813) 965-1697. I’d love to talk with you about it.
Always praying for your good health,
