Post 373 was founded 31 May, 1949. The post was renamed later for Albert Aronovitz, son of Emanuel and Rose Aronovitz, who served in the US Army Air Corps and died in Anzio during World War II. The Post supports the VA Hospital through volunteers and through charitable donations. Post 373 is a member of The Veterans Council of Hillsborough County, Florida. Their mission statement is “The Jewish War Veterans Post #373 and Spouse’s Auxiliary are part of a federally chartered, service-oriented organization comprised of members who are men and women veterans of the armed forces or of the allied armed forces, associate members and patrons. It is part of the oldest active veteran organization in the United States and the only Jewish agency that can lobby Congress without registering as a lobbyist. Post members visit the Veterans Hospital, speak on community issues and work with other veterans in an effort to strengthen support for Israel.”
