Hi! I’m Harley, writer of the monthly Kidz Korner column. Have you ever thought of dyeing your hair a different color? Here’s an experience similar to your potential undertaking.
It was my passionate longing to dye my hair purple. Change is often grand, and when a friend dyed her hair, I begged mother dearest more than ever. “It won’t last forever,” was the despondent negotiation of yours truly. “Just some purple tips for the summer.” “Maybe” was the answer for a long while, but when Mom finally agreed, a date was placed on the calendar with Tampa Bay’s favorite hairstylist, Mrs. Kathy, and a profitable excursion was carried out towards the salon.
Tubes of purple color had already been purchased, but for the preferred color to attach to the hair, it has to be light. A person with blond hair would most likely skip this process, but my brown hair had to be bleached. First, Mrs. Kathy painted the bleach into my hair, then wrapped it in tinfoil. It was heavy, and it was challenging to keep my neck straight. Second, I was placed under the hairdryer for a few minutes.
It was relaxing and irritating at the same time, and multiple times I had to summon my mother to fix a piece of hair that had fallen out. Then, my hair was soothingly washed, dried again, and colored. After a long process, my hair was purple, and it was super rewarding. Although the millions and gazillions of colors in the world can be pretty, there are so many more colors of all sorts in heaven. God has the most creative mind ever.
