Liberty Manor for Veterans was the benefactor of a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. The funds are intended to provide some financial relief to the veterans’ home and the veterans due to Covid-19 pandemic. The mission of Liberty Manor for Veterans, Inc. is to provide housing to disabled and homeless veterans who have fallen victim to homelessness for the first time and providing them with all resources necessary that will lead to independence The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay is a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit that connects people and resources to inspire charitable giving and create a meaningful, lasting impact on our region. We serve Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties. The mission is to build a better community through creative philanthropy, vision, and leadership. We partner with individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits, community leaders, professional advisors, volunteers, and residents to create positive change in our communities. A community foundation is a public charity that typically focuses on supporting a geographical area, primarily by facilitating and pooling donations used to address community needs and support local nonprofits. The first community foundation was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914. There are now more than 900 in the United States and more than 2,100 around the world. Community foundations are created by and for the communities they serve. Like other community foundations, the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay is supported by local donors and governed by a board of private citizens with deep roots in our region. We know this community and work closely with local nonprofits to stay on top of emerging issues and potential solutions.
