The Pasco Tax Collector’s Office donated $7,068 to Pasco Friends of Animal Services, the fundraising arm of Pasco County’s Animal Services Department. The funds were donated specifically to assist needy Pasco seniors provide for the feeding and care of their pets.
“Friends of Animal Services is so honored to be selected to receive the generous donations and to be entrusted to assist Pasco County Animal Services with helping our seniors care for their life companions,” comments Board Chair Abbey Cox. “We would also like to thank Mike Fasano for his vision and the dedicated staff of the Pasco Tax Collector’s Office for realizing and helping to fill a need in our community.”
“Pasco County’s Animal Services Department is the best in the state,” remarks Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “It has been our honor to work with the Department and its fundraising arm Friends of Animal Services to help meet the needs of both the shelter, the pets they serve and most importantly the members of our community who utilize animal services. Too many of our elderly neighbors share their own food with their pets, at the expense of their own health and welfare. In this instance, our charitable gift was made to help seniors most in need of assistance to feed and provide for their pets.”
