Years ago, I had a cat named Angel, and while away at work there was a rain that didn’t stop for 7 days. Angel was caught outside, lost the scent of home, and disappeared. We looked everywhere but couldn’t find him. I felt awful. I knew there were alligators around and thought he was eaten. I was devastated. My husband knew the only thing that would quell my pain was another cat. We found her at an adoption center at PetSmart.
I had a dream the night before. All I could remember was God saying “get the one with dots on her face”. I woke up. We headed down to the adoption center. There, I saw a cat in a cage being beaten and hurt by 2 other cats. I felt so bad for it. I walked over, looked closely and saw faint dots on her nose and eyes. I was in love.
About 6 months later we received a phone call at night asking if we had a gray cat; it was Angel living in a gutter. I drove quickly, found Angel, and he fell into my arms. This was the beginning of a furry healing story for us all. Angel and PeachesPoochyLing were amazing pets. Peaches knew me in and out and helped me get through “losing” Angel and eventually losing my triplets to miscarriage. I will never forget her and she will forever remain in my heart. People say pets won’t have a place in heaven.
People say God doesn’t care about animals, but the merciful Lord I know loved me enough to pick a freckled faced cat named Peaches just for me and me for her. I thank the Lord for my baby girl who lived 13 years and helped me through the saddest moments of my life. I thank him for Angel and all my ferals that bring joy in abundance. Thank you PeachesPoochyLing and thank you Lord!
