Live Oak Conservatory has again expanded its Acting classes, offering an advanced class in Scene Study for acting students ages thirteen through ADULT.
This class is designed for the actor who wants to focus on the dynamics of the text and
further investigate “living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.” (Meisner)
Scenes will be studied and interpreted utilizing core acting principles and techniques.
Students will explore the use of voice, body, emotion, and imagination to create characters that are alive and work directly from what is received from their scene partner.
It is recommended that students have some prior acting experience.
The class will be taught by Ron Dykes, a longtime member of Live Oak Theatre.
About Ron Dykes:
Ron Dykes received his Master of Arts degree in Theatre from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He has taught Acting Classes at Hedgerow Theatre in Media, PA and at STRA-BIS-MUS Theatre Company in Ridley Park, PA. Conservatory classes begin the week of September 9. Youth Theatre classes begin on August 13 with a parent meeting and audition date to be announced.
