Over 13,000 men, women and children attended the Joyce Meyer Love Life Conference in Tampa. Joyce Meyer, Priscilla Shirer, and Christine Caine brought their spiritual wisdom and guidance to those in attendance.
Some key takeaways that touched my heart were:
Joyce Meyer shared that in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we must be empty of ourselves. Wow! Powerful! We need to let go of our sinful nature and learn to follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Priscilla Shirer reminded us to build our house to weather the storm. Open the book and study the word, so it is ingrained in our memory. When tough situations arise, and they will, we can lean into the scripture verse, instead of letting satan take us down a dark path.
As a new baby Christian, we need to continually study the Bible and learn God’s word. As a new baby cannot put too much weight on their legs or they will have a limp later in life, new Christians need to build up their strength and foundation in God’s word.
Christine Caine shared a story of her family at the beach and how her father set umbrellas instructing the children to swim between the two umbrellas to remain safe from the riptide. She related it to how we need to remain on the God’s path. And if we do nothing, then the rip tide can take us away. We need to be vigilant in our prayer life, read and study the bible, go to church, serve our community, etc. If we don’t, we will drift.
Remember, don’t jump ship during a storm, because this is when you grow stronger. Learn to lean into the Lord and trust Him to get you through the storms. With each new challenge, you are developing your spiritual muscles!
