Why do people hire coaches? The best athletes in the world have them, to help them get to the next level or to perfect their skill but to also keep them accountable. But what about nonprofessional athletes, why would someone hire a coach? For the same exact reasons.
I have had many coaches in my life that helped me get to levels I would have never gotten to without them. A coach can help you get to the root of something faster that you are struggling with. They can help you see blind spots or pitfalls that maybe you aren’t seeing.
They can help guide you in a direction to get better results. Many times when people hire a coach they are investing in speed because of what the coach knows. They can help you get to where you want go faster or easier than you would on your own.
You are investing in their knowledge and how it can help you in life. Hiring the right coach can save you years of frustration of trying to figure it out on your own. Most of the time, the best coach is going to be someone who has been where you are and has experience getting you out of there to where you want to go.
Whether it’s in business or getting guidance in your personal life, coaches can be hired for many different reasons. If someone struggles with being overweight, one thing you may have not thought about is being coached on how to transform habits and behaviors with food.
When we struggle with weight loss, there are very specific thought patterns and relationships we have developed around our relationship with food that has contributed to the weight gain, for most people. That is actually one thing I have really been focusing on helping people with because that is the very thing that helped me transform my relationship with food and maintaining a healthy weight for over 20 years.
I started studying the Bible and finding scriptures that could help me think differently and learning how my spiritual life could actually be connected to the foods I was choosing to eat.
And that learning how to honor the body as the gift God gave us to take care of can make a difference in our motivation to do so.
