The more of God is found in our obedience. God may ask us to do something we are unable to do. As we say, yes Lord, He shows up on the scene to do whatever He has asked us to do through us. As we surrender everything to Him, as we stop trying to control every scenario, God is then able to show Himself mightily on our behalf. It’s in the dying to self that resurrection power is then available to us by faith.
Romans 8:4 in the Passion Translation states, “So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living His life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit!
As we lay our flesh down and are obedient to God, the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit becomes available to us. For example, you may be at the grocery store and feel the Lord say, “I want you to go lay hands on the person and pray for them so they may be healed.” Your flesh may not want to do that. You may be fearful to talk to a complete stranger not knowing how they may react to you.
As we are obedient, regardless of how we feel, as we lay our lives down and die to the flesh and decide to be obedient to what we feel the Lord is saying, the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit is released to move. We are stepping out of what we can accomplish in our own power and relying totally on what only God can do through us. That is where the more of God is found. As you make yourself totally dependent on the Lord, He can show Himself mighty on your behalf.
If you want to walk in the more of God daily, I encourage you to step out in faith believing that what God said He will do, He will do. He is a good Father who loves you. He wants to co-labor with you as we lay our lives down to what we want and do what He wants.
We would love for you to join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am and on Wednesdays at 7pm at River of Life Church, located at 410 E. Chapman Rd, Lutz, FL 33549.
