I want to thank all of the people that served this country and express compassion for the people have that lost loved ones during this process, for without these sacrifices we would not even be able to celebrate our freedom in this country. I want to also thank my dad for serving this country in Vietnam who was in the 101st Airborne Division and had to skydive into the jungle in the middle of the night. I can’t even imagine the intensity of that!
I am grateful we got to celebrate Father’s Day together, for I appreciate that he has been such a great influence in my life. He is always happy, so positive and grateful to be alive. As a kid, he would make us listen to motivational tapes in the car when I was only 10! Back then we hated it but when I look at who I am today, I see so much of my personality from my dad.
Even after almost dying in Vietnam, he came back and focused on what was positive about life. He knew he could either let that experience destroy him or become better from it. He never used circumstances as an excuse to not succeed. He started many businesses and I remember for the last 30 years, he always talked about his dream of owning a sailboat.
He knew exactly how much money he needed to save to get this boat because he wanted to sail to the Bahamas a few times a year. The amazing thing was he did retire in his 70’s and got his dream boat! He and his wife sailed to the Bahamas for 3 months.
You might have read my last article about my dad and the conversation we had a few years back of how he was “turning into a marshmallow” because he wasn’t taking his health and fitness seriously. Well, he has been listening to his daughter and he not only got more serious but now he is about to turn 76 and still looks this amazing while enjoying an active life. I am so proud of him!
Here’s a picture of him doing his Superman pose in front of their boat. Instead of struggling with his health as he has gotten older, he is taking serious action and is living life! He has gotten his blood sugar under control, lost over 20 lbs. and toned his muscles. I will admit, I do smile from ear to ear knowing my dad finally listened to me and he too saw success like our clients do.
By getting his dream boat, he taught me that if you want great things in life, we need to plan for them. You don’t just get them, many times they are earned. That also applies to a healthy and fit body! It helps to have a vision of what you do want your body to look like and your level of health, for its one of the best investments we can ever make in life. It’s also one of the biggest regrets people have when they don’t take care of it and they are suffering with a lack of health.
Let us help you get on track so your body doesn’t turn into a “marshmallow” either, because if we don’t tone the muscles, they turn into mush. Learn how to age gracefully and enjoy an active life while feeling amazing at any age!
