Hi! My name is Harley, and in this article, we will learn about a non-profit organization called Wreaths Across America.
It is an organization that honors military soldiers who fought for our freedom. Every year, thousands of people get wreaths to place on the graves of our military heroes.
The story of WAA goes a bit like this:
The owner of a wreath company remembered a trip that he had taken to Arlington National Cemetery and wanted to honor the people buried there. He started placing wreaths on graves privately until a picture of the wreaths circulated around the internet. Now, thousands of people place wreaths to honor the people who fought for our country.
How I found out about Wreaths Across America was:
I do a thing called American Heritage Girls. It is kind of a Christian Girl Scouts, where girls become women of integrity. One of our service projects was doing Wreaths Across America!
The problem was, usually about 6,000 people come to the cemetery we were going to, but 30,000 people went! We waited in a line of cars for about two hours, but once we were inside the cemetery, there were no more wreaths left! But, we still got to honor and remember the people buried there. The important thing – all the graves had wreaths on them.
These heroes fought and died for our freedom. Jesus also died for our freedom from sin.
Shouldn’t He also be honored and loved? Bye!
