Hi! My name is Harley, and this month I decided to make a doll for my mom. I enjoy sewing, and I found this book called Crafty Dolls by Jane Bull in a consignment shop and I read it over and over and chose to make a doll. When I first started, I enjoyed going to the store and buying things and cutting out the pattern. It was easy but then it got boring. I don’t have a sewing machine, so I had to sew it all by hand. Ugh! But I finally got done after a month or two of hard work and it was beautiful. My friend actually wants me to make a doll for her that looks like me. That will take a while. But let’s look at a good example of perseverance that we can all live and learn by (much better than mine, of course).
The Story of Job
Job was a righteous and blameless man, always faithful to the Lord. He served Him diligently and obeyed Him wholeheartedly. But one day, Satan wanted to prove to God that he could break man’s trust in Him (He couldn’t, of course). God agreed, with one rule: He could not kill Job. That very fearful day, all of Job’s possessions and his ten children were destroyed. Also, he was afflicted with painful sores. But he still praised God.
But then his friends came and gave him terrible advice. Then Job’s praise began to turn to anger and he questioned God. He inquired why God was doing this to him. Realizing the power of God and that he was overpowered by Him he began to accept his faults as a human. Then God showed mercy on him and gave him more children and livestock and belongings.
Job has persevered much more than I have, but in the end, God rewards those who obey Him and persevere! Goodbye!
