The DeBartolo Foundation presented Connie Lindsay, CEO of Liberty Manor for Veterans, Inc. the “Spirit of Humanity Award 2021” for her exemplary service to the Tampa Bay community.
The DeBartolo Family Foundation’s Spirit of Humanity Award honors local nonprofit organizations that impact the Tampa Bay community in a meaningful way. Recipients of this award create unity, demonstrate hard work, and extend their outreach by helping people in need to overcome obstacles that are beyond their control. Since 2002, fifty three recipients have been recognized with the $25,000 Spirit of Humanity Award, awarded three times annually.
Connie Henderson Lindsay truly personifies the image of a community leader who has made a recognizable and significant impact on the homeless population, which furthermore augmented the economic impact within our great city of Tampa. Connie is a true humanitarian that offers a service not previously provided in Hillsborough or Pinellas Counties for she is responsible for the implementation of the first residential program of its kind for homeless veterans in Tampa, Florida. Liberty Manor is responsible for transitioning over one-thousand veterans in the last 14 years from a homeless state into a lifestyle of independence and self-sufficiency.
Lindsay is a member of the American Legion, Veterans Foreign Wars, Am Vets, Elks Lodge of Brandon, Brandon Moose Lodge, City of Tampa Chamber of Commerce, James Haley & Bay Pines Veterans Advocacy Council, former Hillsborough County Homeless Coalition Board Member.
