Hi, my name is Harley and today we’re gonna talk about St. Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick was born in Britain and at the age of 16 he was taken by Irish raiders as a slave to Ireland. In that time, he served as a shepherd and he said he found God. God told him to go to the beach and there he would find a ship to come home. After being home, he came back to Ireland to convert the pagan Irish to Christianity.
St. Patrick’s Day is more than just going around wearing green stuff and eating a green Oreo McFlurry. It’s about a 16-year-old boy who was kidnapped and how he came to know Christ and returned to convert the Irish to Christianity. What do you think would’ve happened if he hadn’t got kidnapped? There would be less Christians than there are today. God uses everything for good.
It’s been said that he used the shamrock to explain the Trinity. Now let me explain. So each petal on a shamrock makes up the shamrock. It is not three separate shamrocks. Just like in the Trinity. It wouldn’t exist without a member. It wouldn’t exist without the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit.
So now you know. Let’s go celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together. Bye!
