During the month of March Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco’s Stop the Bleed – Life Station Campaign will be the featured charitable giving organization at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office.
Stop the Bleed – Life Station Campaign is an effort to install Life Stations in every school. The Life Stations will provide needed lifesaving materials in the event of school-related violence occurs.
“Stop the Bleed is an awareness campaign aimed at empowering civilians to make a difference in life-threatening emergencies by teaching the basic techniques of bleeding control,” states Captain Justin Ross of the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Operational Readiness Division. “Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from trauma.”
“In a critical situation, seconds matter to save lives,” Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco comments. “In those moments, if we can train and have the equipment necessary to stop bleeding we can provide people a second chance at life.”
“School-related violence is unfortunately a reality that cannot be ignored,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “Our office is honored to lend our support to Sheriff Chris Nocco and Superintendent of Schools Kurt Browning to help raise funds that will eventually allow for the installation of Life Stations in every school in Pasco County. I encourage anyone who would like to help make the tools available to one day save the life of a child, teacher or parent to stop by our office and make a donation.”
