The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, community businesses leaders, and concerned citizens are coming together January 20, 2018 for the 3rd annual Light Up the Night to focus a spotlight on human trafficking; the exploitation of human beings for commercial sex, forced labor, or involuntary servitude.
Human trafficking is the second largest criminal enterprise worldwide, ranking only behind illegal drugs and netting billions of dollars annually, and it’s happening right here in Pasco County.
Sponsored by the David Maus Foundation, Light Up the Night will feature a 5K Race/Walk at Pasco Hernando State College Porter Campus, followed by LIVE music with Shalyah, Word of Life, and Jennifer McGill “Unbreakable,” as well as educational materials, vendors, a kid’s zone and more! Located at The Shops at Wiregrass, upper level parking deck, this occasion is enjoyable for all ages.
Sponsorships are available and proceeds will benefit six local non-profits dedicated to the recovery of trafficked individuals.
The race begins at 4:30pm and the live concert at 6:00pm. Visit www.lightupthenighttampabay.com to register for the race or for additional information.
